How long does setup take?
Usually around 15 minutes. Run the installer on a Windows or Linux computer that stays connected to your network — no router changes needed. The installer sets everything up, including the local AI model (about 5 GB, so allow extra time on a slow connection). Then sign in with your NetMind account and your devices appear in the dashboard.
Do I need technical knowledge?
Not at all. NetMind is designed for non-technical business owners. You control everything with plain English commands — no jargon, no networking knowledge required. If you can send an email, you can manage NetMind.
Is my network data secure?
Everything between your browser, the desktop app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, two-factor sign-in is available, and our database provider (Neon) encrypts data at rest. The AI runs on your own computer, and we only receive device names, addresses and bandwidth figures — never the content of your traffic. We never sell your data.
Do I need to change my router?
No. NetMind runs on a Windows or Linux computer on the same local network and manages traffic from there, so it works with typical home, office and ISP-provided routers without touching their settings. Networks that isolate clients from each other (common on public guest Wi-Fi) or block ARP traffic are not supported.
Can I run NetMind on more than one computer on the same network?
No — run only one NetMind per network. To manage traffic, NetMind routes your devices through the computer it runs on using ARP. If two or more copies run on the same network, they compete for that role: devices can lose their connection and limits or blocks stop working reliably. Pick one computer that stays on, and use the web dashboard to manage your network from anywhere else.
My antivirus blocked NetMind. Is it safe?
Yes, as long as you downloaded it from this website or our official GitHub releases. NetMind intercepts network traffic and needs administrator rights to control bandwidth, which antivirus software can treat as suspicious. Restore the file from quarantine, add an exclusion for the NetMind folder (
C:\Program Files\NetMind on Windows), and run it again.Can I cancel anytime?
