Install NetMind in about 15 minutes.

Everything you need to get NetMind running on one computer: downloads, requirements, antivirus help and what to do after installing.

Get the app

Choose your computer.

One installer per system. It sets up everything NetMind needs.

Your antivirus may flag NetMind. It intercepts network traffic and runs with administrator rights — the same techniques antivirus software watches for. See how to allow it below. Only download NetMind from this page or our official GitHub releases.
Windows
Windows 11 (64-bit) · v2.1.1 · ~86 MB
  1. Download NetMind-Setup-Windows.exe.
  2. Double-click it and click Yes on the administrator prompt.

System requirements.

What you need depends on your plan — the AI features on the Paid plan run on your own computer, so they need more memory and disk.

RequirementFree plan · without AIPaid plan · with AI
Operating systemWindows 11 (64-bit), or 64-bit Linux — Ubuntu, Debian, Kali, Fedora, Arch and similar
Memory4 GB RAM8 GB RAM recommended — the local AI loads into memory while it works
Disk space usedAbout 3 GB — the app plus monitoringAbout 13 GB — the app, monitoring and the local AI
Free space to installAbout 13 GB on both plans — the installer currently sets up the AI for every account
PermissionsAdministrator rights on that computer
NetworkOn the same local network as the devices you want to manage. No router changes needed. Client-isolated networks (most public guest Wi-Fi) are not supported.
Install timeUsually around 15 minutes — allow longer on a slow connection, because of the AI download
Web dashboardAny modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari, on desktop or mobile

Pick a computer that stays on and connected — NetMind only manages the network while it's running. Install it on one computer per network.

Where the space goes

PartSizeWhat it does
NetMind app~0.1 GBThe desktop app itself
Monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus and Docker)~3 GBNetwork charts and the data behind them — grows slowly as history builds up
AI model (Llama 3.1)~4.9 GBThe AI behind AI Chat, Autopilot and Reconfigure
AI runtime (Ollama)~4.6 GBRuns the model. Most of its size is support for NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards, which it installs whether or not you have one

Measured on a Linux install. Windows can need more, because Docker Desktop is larger there.

Antivirus

If your antivirus blocks NetMind.

Here's how to restore it and stop it from being flagged again.

Microsoft Defender

Built into Windows — this is the one to check if you haven't installed another antivirus.

  1. Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection.
  2. If NetMind was removed: Protection history → select the NetMind item → Actions → Restore.
  3. Under Virus & threat protection settings, click Manage settings, then Add or remove exclusions.
  4. Add an exclusion → Folder and choose C:\Program Files\NetMind.

Other antivirus software

If you installed a separate antivirus, the steps are the same idea:

  1. Open your antivirus and restore NetMind from its quarantine if it was removed.
  2. In its settings, find the exclusions list — sometimes called "trusted applications" or "allowed items".
  3. Add the folder C:\Program Files\NetMind on Windows, or /opt/netmind on Linux.
  4. Run the installer or the app again.

Menu names differ between antivirus brands and versions.
